The STA's mission of preserving and protecting the Trace begins with making sure the Trace is clear and usable by all user groups. Some sections must be cleared annually while others we visit twice a year and others more frequently. We rely upon you and all our members and friends to help us by volunteering to "give back" to the Trace at least one day a year some trail maintenance support.
The first opportunity in 2013 is March 9th when we meet for our annual clearing and work at Holly Fork North of Morehead both north and south of the swinging bridge. Mother nature seems to want to drop trees along this steeped sloped section annually testing our resolve. But if you can help we can keep this section open and accessible.
We will provide the tools if you will come dress for the weather to help us on this section. Work begins at the Trail head at 10:00 and ends at 3:00. Bring some lunch and something to drink. There is stream water also.
