The Sheltowee Trace Association has begun a fund raising drive to raise $5,000.00 to go toward the building of 5 additional miles of the Sheltowee Trace - John Muir Trail down in the Big South Fork. Currently the John Muir stops at O&W Railroad bridge and begins again at Honey Creek Loop. This five miles is on the NPS Master Plan and has been for many years. We are now in a position with the NPS to work with them to close this gap.
The plan calls for this trail work to begin in the Spring of 2013 if we can raise the needed funds. We need your support financially right now. Please consider making a financial donation - tax deductible - to the STA ACCESS FUND. You may donate via PayPal or send a check to the STA Office

In the first few days of our "Close The Gap" Access Fund Drive, the STA thanks those who have made a tax deductible contribution to our efforts to Close the Gap on the John Muir Trail and extend the Trace to the end of the John Muir in the Big South Fork.
To date we have received $423.00 toward our goal of $10,000.00.
You can help. If everyone registered to this site, over 900 now, would just send in $10.00, we would reach our goal.

Thanks for your support over the years. Together we can "Close the Gap" and continue to bring new opportunities for all users of the ST. _________________ Check us out at sheltoweetrace.twitter.com and on facebook in the hiking groups under The Sheltowee Trace. Thanks so much to Tali and Dave Hunt for their donation of $50.00 to the Access Fund. With their help, and yours, we are going to see five new miles of trail built in the Big South Fork, extending the ST another 15 miles. This will be the first new trail built in over a decade in the Big South Fork and see the John Muir Trail completed in the Big South Fork.
You can donate by sending your check to
