The STA is looking for those who may have hiked, biked, or ridden a horse the entire length of the Trace since it opened in 1983. We have a registry on our webpage http://www.sheltoweetrace.org/Thru-Hiker_Registry.html
where we are attempting to record everyone's efforts. If you have completed the Trace or know someone who has please let us know either here or via email to director@sheltoweetrace.org .

Check out the list.

We continue to add hikers to our End - 2 - End Registry. Today we added Dan "Sheltowee" Rogers and Dennis "Dodger" Ham who completed the Trace back in October 2001. Dan has also hiked Across America and is Trail Journal gives us a snap shot of the Trace back in 2001. Here is a link to the journal detailing his time on The Trace. Sheltowee section is September 15 to October 4th. http://www.trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?id=9019

If you know of someone that is not on our registry ask them to contact us at director@sheltoweetrace.org or if you know their info please share with us. To view the current registry go to www.sheltoweetrace.org and click on End - 2- End Registry. They are listed in groups by years.

We have confirmation that back in May 1985, Ray LaFollette did an end to end hike of the Trace. We have received a copy of his self-published journal called On the Trace - A Walk Across Eastern Kentucky along with some newspaper articles of his journey.

Sadly we believe that Ray may have passed away. He may have been a Vietnam vet since he talks about some lung issues. He did graduate in 1985 from UK. He may have a daughter in California. We are attempting to find some connection to seek permission to reprint his journal.

If you know anything about Ray please let us know.
