Is anyone contemplating an oct. hike ? I am working towards that goal,
if anyone else is doing that I would like to meet somewhere so we can discuss the hike.
Plus I would like to better know who I'm hiking with if the desicion is made
to go together.
I am an avid hiker and plan on doing the AT in april of next year, I wanted to hike our local long distance trail before then.
I do have a dog, he is a trained trail dog and carrys his own food and water. And is non-aggressive.

Are you doing a through hike? I might join you for a section hike in the London area, I live there. Or give you a lift for resupply if I'm not working. |

That would be great and yes I'm gonna TRY and thru hike.
When I hiked out of Cumberland Falls I was totally unprepared, Pretty
ready now tho. Been hiking 4-5 miles every morning with a 30 pd. pack and my dog has his own pack.
Would like to get together sometime for a meet and greet, if you have the time.
I'm retired so I have all the time in the world plus a very supportive family helps a lot.
Give me a call and perhaps we can meet halfway some where.

Keep in mind that thru hiking with a dog has its challenges. I've never hiked with a dog but I have seen lots of hikers who did.
Your dog won't be able to go into a grocery store, post office, restaurant, pharmacy, library, etc with you. Some hotels, motels and B&B's don't allow pets either. This might affect your ability to resupply and alter your town experience. It will be tougher to hitch a ride with a dog too. Thru hiking the ST means resupplying on multiple occassions.
Both Cumberland Falls SP and Natural Bridge SP have pet friendly lodge rooms. But pets are not allowed on the trails in Natural Bridge State Park. _________________ AT 8,400 Miler |

I'll PM you my cell phone number, if you need a ride or supplies I can help you out in the London area. I may do a section from Cumberland Falls to London area. Depends on on work schedule. |
