Mouth of Laurel Trailhead - Starr Creek Shelter Sheltowee Trace
Volunteers are needed to help rebuild a 30 foot staircase on the Sheltowee Trace as it leads to the asphalt road at Mouth of the Laurel. Equipment and supplies provided - wear appropriate clothing, bring water, snack for lunch. Work is moderately strenuous.
Additional volunteers are needed to clear trail from Dog Slaughter Creek to Starr Shelter and to cleanup the area around Starr. Starr Shelter volunteers if they desire could campout at the Shelter on Friday night.
This is a perfect project for a scout troop.

This volunteer opportunity is back on the schedule for this Saturday. We still need volunteers to clear trail north and south of Mouth of the Laurel and to help with building 30 steps, one at a time, dug into the hillside. So if you want to help, meet up time is at 9:00 am on this Saturday September 16. Mouth of Laurel is at the end of Rt 1193 or Bee Creek Rd..
Bring some water, lunch, dress for clearing trails - long pants and long sleeve shirts advisable. _________________ Check us out at sheltoweetrace.twitter.com and on facebook in the hiking groups under The Sheltowee Trace.
