Since the weather has been so nice and cool, we're going out for an adv race @ cave run next weekend. I'm seeking info on any current mtb trail closures, and also any info on what shape the trails are in. Particularly areas like big limestone and stoney. Also if anybody knows of any new (or newly reopened) gravel roads around the lake.

Thanks!

Paul,
Trees down on the Sheltowee and Caney Loop. FS is suppose to go out on Sheltowee this week - suppose. Limestone was ok, weeds close to edge in a few places.

Is there a current update on the condition on this section of the trail? Who cleared it?

Stoney Cove south down the Sheltowee to the intersection of Caney Loop is clear. FS cleared downed trees this past Wed - July 20.

I always love to go on adv races particularly when the weather is favorable. But before going for the races it is advisable to get entire information regarding MTB trails because always we cannot expect favorable conditions on trails. I really feel glad to be a part of this community from where we can gather information regarding condition exists in trails.

A good adventure race director won't tell you anything about their race except the general location, and the gear list. I advise getting all the information on the area that is available.

Those OutraGIS maps are very nice Cool .

6th in the two man division. Not great, but not too bad considering neither of us was in great shape. The fact that our combined age probably equaled the age of a typical four man team might've had something to do with it too Very Happy .

I am sure that a lot of more people wouldn’t have minded to join in the adv race @cave provided the weather was good!! I am sure that we have to take a lot of care and be cautious before to start and it’s an excellent idea to ask for information about the mtb trail courses. It can be pretty dangerous to go out after the weather at that time!! I am sure that there must be newly opened gravel roads considering that we have so many people interested in the sport now!!

I always like trails and the sport, the excitement and new trails, new bumps and turns to take just once, the weather condition not withstanding is part of the challenge
