Was in London for sister's wedding and thought we'd do a little day hike while we were there.
There was quite a bit of downed trees and other storm damage from a storm a couple weeks prior. 3 large trees were uprooted and blocking the trail in the first quarter mile North from HWY192, passage around/over them were quite easy though.
I have the GPS coordinates of the Lagoon in the gallery and will eventually post those if I don't forget.
Enjoy.

Nice photos! Did you park at the Sheltowee Trace Trailhead on KY 192 and do an out-and-back?
Post coordintates for the Lagoon...sounds mysterious.

Yep, you got it outandback from the trail head. We (Wife and I) are planning an overnight from Noe's Ramp to Cumberland Falls sometime in Sept.
This weekend we're keeping closer to home and going to Mammoth Cave.
Keep forgetting to grab the GPS on my way to work.
Oh yeah, thank you for gathering and posting the maps. I don't even want to think about how much work went into getting them, and they are a huge help.

Glad to hear that the maps help! We are mapping the Sheltowee right now for publication, and it will basically be a guide for the DBNF.
We will show maps here for editing and input from folks....probably in mid-September.
We'll probably offer some swag for people who contribute to the site and/or edit the map. In addition to credits on the map, maybe we'll give big discounts to purchase maps.
Check back for more details....or read the feed at http://www.sheltoweetrace.com/rss.php _________________ Help map trails by submitting your waypoints and trail photos. |

Coords for the Lagoon. I remember seeing in one book it was about 1.2 miles North of the 192 trailhead.
N37 00.897
W84 17.113
Sounds great, I'll keep an eye out. Now if only I can find time to get back to that side of the state again.

Ya that lagoon looked sweet, espcially this time of year. Thanks for the coordinates. I will type into my GIS and bring up some maps.
I was up at Bee rock last weekend and went to Van Hook Falls. I wonder how many people have hiked in up stream, not knowing of the falls, and lounged in the small pool above the lip. It is a mossy, slippery edge with certain death waiting on the boulders below.... _________________ Help map trails by submitting your waypoints and trail photos. |
