Grassy Fork

Miles: 7.6
Slower pace today and surprising heat on Sandstone Ridge and Bald Ridge Road. We decided on an early campsite near the first water after dry ridge area. On the correct track this time after erroneously taking the Koger Ridge trail last time in '06. Back to Rock Creek with a ford tomorrow and Yamacraw Bridge where we'll be taking an early resupply due to heat and early trip fatigue. Need time to heal the muscle soreness and build reserves to move on. Trail shock, we have. Thrushes in the hemlocks and tumbling of water. Lots and lots of poison ivy (Poison I) but some other botanical diversity including wild ginger, trillium, solomen's seal, hepatica, bloodroot, beeches with girth, and more to come.
