We have now open a second team to help everyone get out on the Trace and participate in the Challenge. This info is for both. Only the dates are different. you can switch back and forth between teams depending on your schedule. If you have not registered for the January hike, you need to go online and register at this link -
Date: Team 1 will hike Section Two on February 22 - 24. Hike will go from Perkins Center to Rt 1274 a distance of over 30 miles. That's why it is called a challenge.

Date: Team 2 - will hike Section One in February on 2-3 meeting at Perkins Center and shuttling to Northern Terminus. Hike will be from N.T. to Perkins center a distance of 26 miles.

Logistical issues have forced a change in the distance for Team One, Section hike 2 heading out Feb 23 and 24. The stop point will be Clear Creek Lake Trail Head. Distance of 23 miles.

10 more new hikers are in the 2013 STA Hiker Challenge as part of Team 2. This past weekend, yep in all the cold and snow they did the first 26 mile section, some with twisted knees. Team 2 is hiking the first weekend of the month and Team 1 is going out the third weekend. Two chances to get going and there is still 11 months to get section one done by the December.

Team One completed section 2 - Rt 32 over to Clear Creek this weekend. We had 34 hikers on the trail and everyone enjoyed the journey. Overnight was at Stoney Cove primitive campsite.
Team Two will take on this section March 2,3 about 24 miles over two days. There is still a place for you if you want to come for one weekend or the whole Challenge.
