I am a newbie to the RRG and am going to head out this coming weekend to try a loop detailed in Johnny Molloy's guide book. This loop begins and ends at the Koomer Ridge Campground off Combs Mountain Pkwy. Then continues around Buck Trail, Gray's Arch, Rough Trail, etc. I was wondering if anybody had any tips, do's/do not's, and possibly any current trail conditions. Thanks in advance! |

Sorry, I do not have an update on trail conditions, but since no one else has replied I thought I'd share a little info. I haven't hiked the exact loop you're talking about, but I have been on parts of it. Be prepared for a few stream crossings and poison ivy. Also ticks have been pretty bad on my last few hikes. |

Thanks Flatfeet! I appreciate the info...some is better than none! You wouldnt happen to know a good spot to pick up a good map or two on the way down tomorrow, would you? I ordered a couple online from outrageGIS ten days ago but I STILL havent received them...very disappointed. There must be more than a few good spots to walk in and purchase some maps. |

If you are close to the Phillip Gall's in the Cinncinatti area you might get maps there. The other option might be to try the Phillip Gall's in Lexington, I'm pretty sure they have maps of that area. |

The Shell Station at Slade has very good, waterproof maps of the area. A little pricey, but well worth it in my opinion. _________________ Strangers stopping strangers just to shake their hands... |
