Each year in April the STA asks volunteers to head out on a section of the Sheltowee Trace and help us gather information on the condition of the trail. Are trees down in large numbers, hanging over the trail, is the trail missing because of blazes disappearing or has erosion caused some of the trail to slip into nearby water or are steps or other improvements in need of repair. You can help us by visiting the webpage www.sheltoweetrace.org and clicking on Trailcheck 2012. There you will find the Sheltowee Trace broken down into segments and sections. All you need do is pick a section you might like to do - there are a variety of distance - then send an email to volunteer@sheltoweetrace.org with the section and segment you have an interest in, and your name and phone number. That's it. The work our volunteers do in April sets the agenda for the rest of the year. Hope you will give us a hand.
