Today, Jim Doyle, Chairman of the Board of the STA and the lead maintainer for the Trace from NT to I-64, installed a new gate on the Trace at Dry Branch. The gate replaces a barbed wired crossing. Mr. Clark, the farm owner worked with the STA to make this new gate possible. It should make it easier for users to continue up and down the Trace at Dry Branch. Please be mindful of our landowners and keep this gate and all gates closed so their animals are contained.

We thank Mr. Clark also for the much needed water source at Dry Branch. The outdoor spigot is across his drive next to the fence, just beyond the row of bushes, a few steps off his drive.

Thanks so much to Jim Doyle for the gate and donating his time to installing this gateway to the Trace and to Mr. Clark for the water and for working with us to improve the STA at Dry Branch. There is some parking in the field adjacent to his drive but please don't block the entrance and park to the right so he can keep the grass cut.

The county recently went through the area and cleared the steep bank so there should be no confusion on where the trail is located.

Soon a second gate will be placed on the fence line entrance south of Dry Branch as you cross onto the gas pipeline opening. An example on how the STA is working for you to make The Trace a national recrational trail worth bragging about. We need your membership today so we can continue our work.
