Send these photos to Morehead Ranger office via email. If you don't have their emails let me know. They need to see what has been done. Was it clear where the Trace enters the woods at the other side of the farm field? Do we need a post in the ground with a blaze on it to assist folks in finding the way or is the trail obvious?

It wasn't initially obvious where the trail entered the woods as there were a couple of places appeared to be a trail. The first one we came to, Chilton realized quickly it was not the actual trail. We moved further around the wood line and found another place whch Chilton recognized as the correct trail. A short distance into the woods is where one comes to the DBNF boundary and that location is well marked and the trail is very evident. I think once the path around the field at the wood line is cleared most folks won't have a problem finding. I'm not sure if we can mark the entance into the woods because it is still on private property. |
