After an episode of acute post-election depression, I made it out to Pickett State Park for a solid weekend of r+r. The Hidden Passage loop and the Twin Arches have to be some of the best hiking in the Big South Fork. Both trails are hiker-only and well maintained. The Tunnel Trail in Pickett takes you to a old rail tunnel cut under a seam of coal. The upper Rock Creek Trail is not maintained as well and presents the usual woodland hazards of downed trees and swift streams.

I attached 2 maps at the end...these are raw, uncorrected track data.

p.s....the last overlook is from the East Rim overlook.
