Elaine spoke to our (Jackson county) tourism meeting in January about developing Mckee as a trailtown. I hand delivered letters from our tourism association, co development association, co judge executive office, (and my office) to the state tourism office if Frankfort last week all offering help with the project. We really welcome this initiatve from tourism.

Ya'll come down to Mckee and see us. (Try to spend a few $ while you're here!)

In March the STA and State Tourism will be in Beattyville to talk with local community leaders and officals about the Trail Town certification process. If nothing else happens, it raises the awareness of officials that the ST is there in their backwoods.

We, as an association, need to make sure that something happens to establish trail towns along the Sheltowee Trace.

Morehead is in. Heard they had a meeting on Tuesday and are proceeding with doing the assessment and working toward the certification. So important for the long term security of the ST. If you live in Morehead, get involved in making this happen.

This sort of arrangements are a help to the tourism because this is the thing that comes out and keeps everything in order.
