Hello to all! I will keep this short..
What is the hiker challenge? Race, self goal etc? When does the 2014 race begin? link for registration please? Is it team oriented or as a whole group.
As an outsider looking in it has been hard to track down these questions. Because it is stated as a challenge I am guessing that the trail is broken into heavy mileage sections and hiked either as a race or self challenge of completion as a group. Thanks in advance for the explanation. _________________ "Maps" |

Thanks Ewker for the link.
The 2014 Hiker Challenge is open to everyone. We break down the 307 miles of the Trace into monthly sections. The first one is from Leatherwood to Maude's Crack in the Big South Fork. Registration info is on the webpage of the STA www.sheltoweetrace.org click registration link. If you have other questions please post here, or send email to director@sheltoweetrace.org.
We have a limited number of spots for each team so don't wait to register. We have 34 registered so far but expect that after Christmas in the last days before the first weekend challenge others will registger.
Team one is the second weekend of the month Team 2 is the third weekend. _________________ Check us out at sheltoweetrace.twitter.com and on facebook in the hiking groups under The Sheltowee Trace. We are just days away from Team One starting their challenge at Leatherwood Ford. Between the two teams we have 58 potential End - 2 - Enders heading out in January. Some are repeaters from last year. If you are interested grab the pack and get it together for not this weekend but next. You are welcome to join us for section one which is 25 miles over two days in the Big South Fork from Leatherwood to Maude's Crack with an overnight stay at Charit Lodge on Saturday. There is a fee. Go to our sister webpage www.sheltoweetrace.org and click on STA Adventures, then 2014 Hiker Challenge for details. _________________ Check us out at sheltoweetrace.twitter.com and on facebook in the hiking groups under The Sheltowee Trace.
