Gallery posted by sheltowee wanderer is fantastic! It is at:

Question: How are the campsites within one mile south of the Laurel River Lake dam? Do you any pictures that shoe any?

Thanks and looks like a great trip!

Wow!
Great photos! When were they taken?

I'm looking for anyone who can provide current conditions on the Laurel Lake Dam to Cumberland Falls trail.

We are planning to ride mountian bikes and hike this leg as soon as we can find solid info about it. I had been told that this is the toughest part of the whole trace. Is this true? We are intermediate level bike riders with respect for all. We are planning this as a family trip with 3 adults and 2 kids. It looks possible to do this trip in one day, but please let me know if this is not possible.

My buddy has a GPS unit and asked if there are points for this leg of the trail?
We would also be happy to plot our path and provide this back to the forum if there is interest.

Thanks for having such a great web site!

Eggman,

Mountain biking is nice around Holly Bay and a popular destination. It also makes a good loop...however, south of the dam down to mouth of Rockcastle is tough and along river this time of year, with a thick cover of slick leaves on "babyhead" and "watermelon" rocks is good way to "crack the basement." Yo can't mountain bike in Cumberland Falls SRP.

I think sheltowee wanderer shot those in 2005.

Boyd
