Segment 5, Section 1 to Segment 4, Section 6.

Rt 1209, going south to Rt 421.

I hear it's a really nice section of trail; I'm looking forward to it.

Will be camping in Turkeyfoot overnight, or may try to find the other site near the cave.

Then again, the plans I make and the reality I live in are usually two different things - which is why I bought a hammock Laughing

The spot across from resurgence has good places to hang. Happy trails.

Is the resurgence cave pretty easy to spot? I've seen it mentioned a few times. Is it north of south of Turkeyfoot? I'll be hiking southbound from Rt1209; about how far is that walk to resurgence?

It's about 6.25 miles from where you leave KY 1209 to Resurgence Cave. The cave is very easy to see. It's right at creek level on the south side of War Fork next to where the ST crosses the creek. Unless it's been raining, War Fork will be dry upstream of the cave, and the creek will reemerge directly from the cave (hence the name). There's a nice campsite right before you cross the creek when you're heading south. The cave is about 2 miles north of Turkeyfoot.

Have fun!
