This is the bridge after "devegetating" it. You can see the trail marker and no hunting sign at the far end.
Edited--this high tech stuff confuses me The bridge picture is at the very bottom. The rest should be viewed from top to bottom I think |

Thanks for your work in this area. You might want to invest in a saw for cutting trees if you want to cut limbs by hand. Sure your saw got it done and you got some exercise. Thanks again. _________________ Check us out at sheltoweetrace.twitter.com and on facebook in the hiking groups under The Sheltowee Trace. Sign up and join the discussion. That particular saw is pretty quick and easy with stuff under 5 inches in diameter. Anything over about 8 inches diameter is a pretty good workout. I have a two man saw but it needs a handle and I haven't tracked down the correct handle for it yet. |

Are chain saws not permitted on trail maintenance on the ST? I have worked some on the Pine Mountain Trail and they come in handy.

I think chainsaws are allowed for most if not all of the Sheltowee Trace. From what I understand there are closely related areas and trails where the use of power tools is banned. |

Tim,
Chainsaws are tools of the trade. Bowsaws, weed wackers. All Good. The hard part is getting out there and doing the work. The only place that machinery is not allowed is in a congress declared "Wilderness Area" like the Clifty Wilderness area in the Red River Gorge (which the ST does not run through). Other than that the forestry service just really dislikes their used because they are afraid of lawsuits.
Tim... what and wear do you teach? I teach math at Paris High school. |

Yeah I don't typically reread before submitting. BTW that's exactly what my students do. |
